Profile of a Christian
 By Sister Margaret Gray

It was August 1947 when I got saved. A revival meeting was being held. I got under conviction. The night I got saved the preacher had preached about Hell. He seemed to be speaking directly at me. My burden was so heavy that I practically ran out of the church. I began to pray more seriously than I had ever prayed in my life. As I got closer to our earthly home, my burdens continued to get heavier. The moment I felt like I was going to die (if I didn't get out of this condition) the Lord spoke sweet peace to my soul. I wasn't afraid to die now. Seemed like the whole sky got bright for a few seconds, I had peace and was so happy. It has been forty-four years ago-seems only today. The government has built an interstate road near the place where the Lord saved my soul. Praise the Lord they have left that precious place where he saved me. When the revival closed, thirty-three souls were saved. We all gave our experience, joined the church and were baptized in a creek. I'm so thankful for a precious father and loving mother. They took me to a Missionary Baptist Church in Barren County, Kentucky. Today, I am so thankful to be a member of Bethel Church. I am so thankful for Pastor Bacon and Sister Shirley, all our deacons, their families and every member of Bethel.
